Opelousas- Funeral services will be held for David Wayne Stepp at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2019, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Eugene Reiszner will conduct the service.
David, age 66, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at his home.
David served in the Vietnam war, served in the AWANA-ministry, retired from Valero Oil & Gas Company after working for the company over 20 years (known by his co-workers as Stepper). David enjoyed woodworking, restoration, and camping with his wife and grandkids and he was a huge New Orleans Saints fan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Darlene Fontenot Stepp of Opelousas; his children, Jared Stepp and Jennifer Stepp Lege and her husband, Jarrod all of Lafayette; brother, Richard Stepp and his wife, Priscilla of Scott; sister-in-law, Gladys Stepp of Port Neches, TX; two grandchildren, Olivia Lege and Hudson Lege; and two step-grandchildren Lilly Lege and Samantha Lege.
He is preceded in death by mother, Lena Roche Stepp; father, Richard Allison Stepp; and his brother, Fred Stepp.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas,
