David Sam LeJeune, a committed public servant and dedicated member of his community, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2024, in Opelousas, Louisiana. He was born on April 8, 1952, in Lafayette, Louisiana.

David's career was defined by his unwavering commitment to serving and protecting others. David transitioned into law enforcement, after an honorable term in the United States Army, serving as a Military Policeman during peacetime. He dedicated a total of 38 years to this noble profession. For 26 years, he worked tirelessly with the Opelousas Police Department, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community he held dear. His dedication extended further as he became an active member of the Port Barre American Legion Post 334. Through his involvement with this esteemed organization, David continued to serve his fellow veterans and contribute to causes that advocated for their well-being.

Throughout his life, David was a devoted family man. His greatest joy came from spending time with his two sons, daughter-in-laws, and his grandchildren while creating lasting memories with his loved ones. He cherished every moment shared with his family and was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer words of wisdom.
