Daniel Craig Leger, age 54, passed away on January 26, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness that touched the lives of those around. He was born on August 18, 1969, in Opelousas to Lawrence and Melba Leger. Craig was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose memory will forever be cherished.

Craig's warm and caring personality endeared him to everyone he met. He possessed an innate ability to make others feel seen and valued. Throughout his life, Craig never encountered a stranger; instead, he greeted everyone with a smile and open arms. His genuine love for people was contagious and made him an exceptional friend.

One of Craig's greatest joys in life came from supporting his community through his unwavering dedication to the Port Barre High School football team. Known affectionately as "Coach Craig" by the players, Craig attended every game without fail. His enthusiasm for the sport was matched only by his unwavering support for the team he loved dearly.

In addition to his passion for football, Craig found solace in various hobbies and interests throughout his life. He had an adventurous spirit that embraced new experiences wholeheartedly.  Craig truly lived life to the fullest.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at First Baptist Church at 2:00 PM to honor Craig's life and commemorate the profound influence he had on those around him.

Finally, Craig will be laid to rest at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Port Barre, Louisiana during a burial ceremony starting at 3:00 PM. It will be a moment of reflection and remembrance as we say our final goodbyes to a dearly loved individual.

He leaves cherished memories in the hearts of his surviving family members: his brother Terry Wade Leger Sr. (Lena) of Port Barre and sister Gloria Deville (Roger) of Port Barre, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Craig is proceeded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Melba Soileau Leger, along with his brother Lawrence Leger, Jr.
