Cydalise S. Sis Marks

Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Cydalise S. Sis Marks, 84, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2007, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Father Nicky Trahan will conduct the services.

Mrs. Marks, a native Opelousas and a past resident of Port Barre. She died at 12:10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2007, in Prompt Succor Nursing Home.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. She was a homemaker and also a wonderful caregiver always helping people in need. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends. She will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew her.

Survivors include: three daughters: Barbara Savoie of Port Barre; Betty Chenevert and husband, Doug of Port Barre; and Carolyn Ramer and husband, Earl of Panama City, FL; 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a special niece who she loved as a daughter, Kitty Hooks of Krotz Springs, LA.

Mrs. Marks was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Marks; her parents: Jerry Stoute and Mae Duplechain Stoute; one great grandchild, Jacob Brock Higginbotham; and six sisters: Bessie Robin, Carrie Robin, Lillian Cropper, Mable Champagne, Mary Hooks, and Eula May Stoute.

Visiting hours will be observed on Wednesday, July 18 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with an all night wake in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre until the time of services on Thursday.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the funeral home.
