Cleo A. Bourque August 30, 1950 – August 3, 2025
Cleo A. Bourque, 74, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 30, 1950, Cleo lived a life rooted in faith, love, and service to others.
A faithful servant to the Lord, Cleo never hesitated to share her faith and joy in Christ with those around her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose gentle spirit and warm heart touched many lives.
Cleo dedicated most of her career to St. Landry Homestead, where she was cherished for her care and commitment in helping customers achieve their dreams of home ownership. Whether it was a starter home or a forever home, Cleo made each experience a special milestone for those she served, leaving behind countless fond memories for her clients.
Her faith was central to her life. She devoted many years to the Cursillo Training Center in Opelousas, where she served as a professor for both the women’s and young women’s movements. Through heartfelt discussions, she shared her personal walk with Jesus, inspiring others to deepen their own faith. Cleo was also a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre.
Following her retirement from St. Landry Homestead, Cleo spent the past decade enjoying the fruits of her labor alongside her beloved husband, Sidney. Together, they made precious memories traveling, with their favorite destination being Orange Beach—where they happily spent time without ever needing to set foot on the sand. Sidney remained her loving companion and devoted caregiver until her final days.
Cleo’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her son, Yancy Aymond (Renee); her grandchildren, Wyatt, Cole, and Avery Aymond; her great-grandson, Waylon; her family gained by marriage; daughter, Jessica Bourque and son, Keith Bourque, her grandchildren, Sydney, Caroline, Cole, and Seth. She is also survived by her sister, Norma Jean Stelly (Curtis), and her lifelong best friend, Darlene “Bean.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Normand and Armance Gros and Gilis Landry; her sister, Amy Alphonse; her brother, Patrick Landry; Yancy’s father, Ronald Aymond; her sister-in-law, Gail Stoute; and other beloved family members.
In addition to her immediate family, Cleo leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, all of whom will forever cherish the memories shared with her.
Pallbearers will be Yancy Aymond, Wyatt Aymond, Cole Aymond, Andy Aymond, Cole Colligan, Seth Bourque, with Keith Bourque serving as honorary pallbearer. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Glenn (Beverly) Bourque and Randy (Mel) Bourque, and her sister-in-law Carolyn Fontenot.
Cleo was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
