Opelousas- A Rosary Service will be prayed for, Christopher "Chris" Richard, on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. by Deacon Dwayne Joubert at Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. The family requests visitation be held from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2018.

Chris, age 41, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at Opelousas General Health System. Chris enjoyed fishing with his brother, having cook outs, and spending time with his son, Gage and his dog, Boo Boo. Chris will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Shawntell H. Richard of Opelousas; son, Gage Kameron Richard of Opelousas; father, Dudley Paul Richard, Jr. and wife, Lisa of Port Barre; mother, Cathy Jeffers and husband, Michael of Sunset; paternal grandmother, Joyce Bourque of Opelousas; maternal grandfather, Joseph Wilbert LeBlanc of Opelousas; brothers, Gabriel Richard and his significant other, Whitney of Lafayette, and Dustin Leblanc of TX; sisters, Elizabeth Richard of Sunset and Cyclie LeBlanc of Port Barre; his godchild, Ava Irene Richard; and a host of neices and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Drake Lane Richard; brother, Paul Richard; paternal grandfather, Dudley Richard, Sr.; maternal grandmother, Nora Stoute; and his nephew, Travis Devonte Moten.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to help with the cost of funeral expenses.
