Opelousas--A funeral service will be held for Chris Mayeux on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Saviors Church in Opelousas, La. Visitation will start at 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m.
Chris Mayeux, a dedicated Senior Manager in Telecommunications, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas. Born on October 6, 1962, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Chris was a man whose loving and caring nature touched the hearts of many throughout his life.
Chris’s professional journey was marked by notable achievements, including receiving the prestigious Pinnacle Award from AT&T, a testament to his commitment and excellence in the field. Beyond his career, Chris was deeply involved in his church, his community, proudly serving as a member of the Rotary Club in Alabama.
A devoted family man, Chris took immense pride in his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Becky Guidroz Mayeux of Opelousas, and their sons, Brandon Mayeux of Opelousas, Chad Mayeux (Katie) of Opelousas, and Andy Mayeux (Misty) of Rayne. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Nola Mayeux, Calla Mayeux, Sadie-Lynn Mayeux, Skylar Brand, and Zoey Dobbs. His brothers and sisters, Kelly Mayeux (Lynn) of Opelousas, Rebecca Lanning (Michael) of Shreveport, and Mona Woodson (Terry) of Opelousas, cherish the loving memories they have of their brother.
Chris's passion for life was reflected in his hobbies and interests. He was an ardent fan of LSU and Saints football, enjoyed lawn care, had a love for cooking, and reveled in riding his motorcycle. Moreover, his favorite moments were spent creating lasting memories with his granddaughters, forging bonds that will be cherished forever.
Though he is predeceased by his father Rodney Mayeux, mother Charlotte Hamby Mayeux, and sister Jeannie Tatman, Chris leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. His compassionate spirit and joyful demeanor will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and community.
