PORT BARRE- A Memorial Gathering will be held for Cheryl Faye Hidalgo on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in Sibille Funeral Home chapel of Port Barre. Inurnment will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

Cheryl Faye Hidalgo, born on December 17, 1946, in Opelousas, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at her residence in Opelousas on September 10, 2025.

Cheryl found immense joy in needlepoint sewing, skillfully creating works of art that blended creativity with craftsmanship. Puzzles and reading were among her other favorite pastimes, which she often enjoyed in quiet contemplation, reflecting her thoughtful nature.

Survivors include her son, Albert Hidalgo III; brother, Brent Wyble; sister, Joan Spyerer; and granddaughter, Keyleigh Hidalgo.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Huey Wyble & Bertha Bourque Wyble; brother, Robert “Bobby” Wyble; and sister Nancy Tritico.

Cheryl Faye Hidalgo will be deeply missed by those whose lives she touched with her kindness and warmth. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
