Opelousas--Funeral Service will be held for Cheryl Mouret Collins on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Pastor Benny Reppond will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

Cheryl M. Collins, a cherished member of her community, passed away on August 19, 2024, at the Opelousas General Health System. Born on October 19, 1947, in Opelousas, Louisiana, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother known for her kind heart and nurturing spirit.

Cheryl dedicated a significant part of her career to the sales of appliances, where she built lasting relationships with her clients through her warmth and dedication. In her later years, she took pride in her role as a mother and grandmother, finding immense joy in spending time with her great-grandchildren. Her family describes her as a very loving person who brought light and laughter into their lives.

She is survived by her son, Tommy Collins, and his wife Lisa of Opelousas; her daughter, Tammy Collins of Opelousas; her sister, Janice Mouret of Carencro; her nephew, Jason Mouret of Carencro; and her grandchildren, Alana Collins and her partner Amber Robin, and Colleen Disotell and her husband Kenny. Cheryl was also a proud great-grandmother to Landon, Anisa, Jeramiah, Sutton, Hazel, and Ella; and a host of nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly for her playful spirit and compassionate nature.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Collins; her father, Harry Mouret, Sr.; her mother, Mae Mouret; and her brother, Harry Mouret, Jr. Her legacy of love and devotion to family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cheryl's proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, the joys of her life that she cherished deeply.

As we remember Cheryl M. Collins, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments that will continue to resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
