Opelousas-Funeral service will be held for Charles "Byrd" Kenneth Inhern at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 19, 2026 in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Vinnie Bullara will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026 from 10:00 am until time of service at 3:00 pm.
Charles, born on October 6, 1949, in Ville Platte, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette. Charles lived a long and full life.
His journey began in the heart of Ville Platte and he was raised in Opelousas. He started working for his father in law, Jim Tatman in 1971 and he has been the owner of Jim Tatman's Mobile Homes with his wife for the last 40 years. He loved to travel the world with his pride and joy, his wife Donna. He could be found gardening, barbecuing, or bird watching in his spare time. He also had an abounding love for his children and grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, of 55 years, Donna Tatman Inhern of Opelousas, his mother, Florella Vige' Inhern of Opelousas, his loving daughters, Cammie Inhern Bullara and her husband Vinnie Bullara of Opelousas, and Jamie Inhern Theriot and her husband, Scotty of Lafayette, his grandchildren, Tucker Bullara and his wife, Emma, Hayden Theriot, Brock Bullara, Riley DeJean and her husband Tyler, and Presley Bullara.
He his preceded in death by his father, Aloysius Inhern.
He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. As we mourn his passing, we honor his memory and the contributions he made throughout his many years.
Pallbearers will be Vinnie Bullara, Scotty Theriot, Tucker Bullara, Hayden Theriot, Brock Bullara, and Jody Bergeron.
