OPELOUSAS- A Funeral Service will be held for Cecelia Ruth Sarver Roy on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 1:00 PM in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Minister Steven Roy will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington.
Cecelia Ruth Sarver Roy, born on February 10, 1933, in Crowley, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, at her residence in Arabi, Louisiana. She was a cherished member of her family and a beloved friend to many.
Cecelia was known for her warm heart and generous spirit. She dedicated much of her life to caring for those in need, embodying the values of compassion and selflessness. Family time was of utmost importance to her, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her laughter and kindness will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her nurturing nature, Cecelia had a passion for playing cards and gambling, activities that brought her joy and excitement. These hobbies allowed her to connect with friends and family in a way that reflected her vivacious personality.
Cecelia is survived by her daughters, Sue Hoo of St. Bernard and Debra Juneau of St. Bernard; six grandchildren, Robert Lofton, Jason Juneau, Tory Hoo, Leo Alphonso, Chad Lainhart, and Chris Lainhart (Lisa); five great grandchildren, Asia Chiek (Nick), Lanie Naquin, Gabby Naquin, Gabriel Lofton, and Aden Koepp.
Cecelia is preceded in death by her husband, John D Roy; parents, Gary and Ruby Sarver; daughters, Phyllis Kay Roy and Norma Williams; granddaughter, Jade Naquin; and brothers, Gary Sarver Jr. and James Sarver.
Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved and touched throughout her life. Cecelia Ruth Sarver Roy leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and unwavering support, ensuring that her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those she leaves behind.
