OPELOUSAS- A Funeral Service will be held for Bonnie Ann Willingham on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. Reverend Benny Reppond will conduct the service. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.
Bonnie Ann Willingham, peacefully passed away on August 26, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital.
Throughout her life, Bonnie was a woman of many passions and interests. She found solace and joy in the art of embroidering, pouring her heart into every delicate stitch she made. Another passion that brought Bonnie comfort and inspiration was reading her bible. She possessed an unwavering faith and found solace within the sacred pages of scripture. Music held a special place in Bonnie's heart, particularly worship music. The harmonious melodies uplifted her spirit and allowed her soul to soar. Butterflies fluttering through the air always filled Bonnie's heart with joy. Their vibrant colors and graceful flight reminded her of how beauty can emerge from the simplest moments.
Bonnie's kind spirit touched the lives of those around her in profound ways. Her gentle nature, compassionate heart, and unconditional love were constant sources of comfort for those fortunate enough to know her. To be in Bonnie's presence was to experience warmth, kindness, and eternal understanding.
Bonnie was preceded in death by a treasured son, Daniel Willingham, who was the light of her life; her mother, Betty Arceneaux Johnson, and stepfather, Winfred Johnson; and her dear sister, Sharon Baham.
Bonnie will be deeply missed by her brothers: Rickie Johnson and his wife Gwen, Dickie Johnson, Kenneth Johnson and his wife Gwen, Lionel Johnson and his wife Stephanie. Their bond as siblings ran deep, intertwining their lives with love, laughter, and cherished memories; her aunt, Kathy Thibodeaux and her husband Bo; her uncle, Herbert Arceneaux and his wife Jackie; a special friend, Toni Willingham and her husband, Robert. Their friendships held a special place in Bonnie's heart as they shared moments filled with laughter, joy; Bonnie's warm heartedness extended to numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
As we say farewell to Bonnie, let us also celebrate the vibrant tapestry she wove during her time on Earth. Her legacy will endure through the lives she touched, forever reminding us to appreciate the beauty that lies within each passing moment.
