Billie Duhon Myers, born on September 25, 1952, in Jennings, Louisiana, passed away on April 4, 2026, at her residence in Opelousas, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind a legacy marked by her passions and accomplishments that touched many lives.
Billie was a woman who embraced the beauty of the outdoors and found joy in nature’s quiet moments. She enjoyed gardening, cultivating life and color with her own hands, and crocheting, which reflected both her creativity and her patience. Often, she could be found sitting outside, simply enjoying the peace that nature offered.
In her younger years, Billie Myers was known as an accomplished cowgirl, proudly competing in numerous state finals events. Her dedication and skill earned her respect and admiration, highlighting a chapter of her life filled with determination and athletic excellence.
Billie is survived by her significant other, Robert Artigue; her daughters, Amy M. Veillon and her husband, Neal, and Shanon M. LaComb and her husband, Michael; brothers, Ike Duhon and his wife, Tammy, and Steve Duhon and his wife, Janet; sisters, Charlotte Prudhomme and her husband, Mitch, and Bridget Leger and her husband, Jeffrey; 2 grandchildren, Jacob Veillon and Gabbie LaComb.
Billie is preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Betty Jean Duhon; sister, Danita Cason, and her granddaughter, Harlie “Ree” LaComb.
The family would like to express gratitude to LA Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Christine Johnson, Theresa Fontenot, and Lori Bushnell. Your love and support during this difficult time has been a true blessing.
Billie Duhon Myers will be remembered with great respect for her vibrant spirit and the warmth she brought to those around her. Her life story is a tribute to the richness found in passion and perseverance, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
