Barbara Jane Hardy

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Barbara Jane Hardy, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will officiate the mass. Inurnment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m.

Barbara Jane Hardy, age 81, the former Barbara Campbell, passed away on April 16, 2026, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. She was a native and lifelong resident of Arnaudville. She enjoyed her time working at Champagne’s Grocery store in Leonville. She also enjoyed visiting and laughing with family and friends.

Barbara is survived by her two daughters, Angele Lanclos (Al) and Jutta Codori (Ragis); a son, Lucas Higginbotham; a son-in-law, Mike Vidrine; one brother, Bobby Campbell (Kim); one sister-in-law, Shirley Campbell; her grandchildren, Raphael Josh Higginbotham, Malorie Vidrine, Travis Codori, Alex Lanclos, Amber Rodriguez, and Corey Vidrine; and a host of great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Raphael Higginbotham, her second husband, John “Johnny” Hardy; daughter, Donna Vidrine; son, Zeke Higginbotham; her parents, Martin Campbell, Sr. and the former Angele Lalonde; five brothers, Chrestley Campbell, Ivy Campbell, Daniel Campbell, Martin Campbell Jr., and John Allen Campbell; sister, Ivy Lou “Pullute” Stelly; and grandson, Scott Vidrine.

Music for the mass will be provided by Kenneth Wyatt. The songs will be Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross, Ave Maria, and How Great Thou Art.
