Anna Joyce Jones, age 85, passed away on August 30, 2023, in Washington, La. She was born on June 4, 1938, in Melville, La. Anna Joyce was a loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, and cherished great-grandmother. 

Anna Joyce's life revolved around her faith in God and her dedication to her family. She found immense joy in attending church services and guided her loved ones with unwavering love and support. Her warm presence was felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her deep-rooted faith, Anna Joyce had a number of hobbies and interests that brought her happiness throughout her life. She cherished quiet moments spent on the swing while sipping coffee, finding solace in the simple pleasures of life. Anna Joyce also expressed her love for her family through the art of cooking; she delighted in preparing meals for her loved ones and creating memories around the dinner table. Another one of Anna Joyce's passions was caring for hummingbirds, finding joy in their delicate presence and observing their graceful flight.

Anna Joyce will also be greatly missed by her children: Newt Jones (Becky), Gene Jones (Andria), Kathy Vidrine (Dale), and Janice Landry (Ray). Her profound love for each of them guided the way they live their lives today. Her grandchildren Chad Guidry (Jenni), Shantel Jones Merritt (Brad), Cory Jones (Kasie), Holly Jones Robin (Jake), Ryan Jones, Jeramie Jones, Kristina Vidrine, Matthew Le, Ryan Le, and their father Nuoi Le and his wife, Paula Le, carry with them fond memories of their beloved grandmother. Anna Joyce was also blessed with great-grandchildren Audriana Merritt, Mikaela Merritt, Zayne Jones, Zoey Jones, Abby Vidrine, Camille Vidrine, Karli Rae Robin, and Kane Robin. She is survived by her brothers Johnny Johnson (Linda); Pete Johnson (Connie); Tommy Johnson (Debbie); and one sister Lessie Sicard (Gerald).   

Anna Joyce is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Bernard Jones. The loss of Anna's presence will be deeply felt by those closest to her but they take solace in knowing that she is now at peace. Anna is preceded in death by her parents, Felix Johnson Sr & Rena Kimble Johnson; grandson, Jacques Clint Deville; brothers Pastor William Ray Johnson Sr., Felix Johnson and Reed Johnson.

Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation service to pay their respects on September 2, 2023. The visitation will be held at Sibille Funeral Home located at 2309 George Drive in Opelousas, LA. The visitation will begin at 8:30 AM.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral service will commence at 2:00 PM with Pastor Anthony Polotzola & Pastor Eldon Reeves to officiate. Anna Joyce's life will be celebrated as her loved ones gather to honor the legacy she leaves behind. Burial will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, La.

Anna Joyce Jones touched the lives of many people throughout her lifetime. Her kindness, love, and unwavering faith in God were a testament to her character. As we mourn the loss of such an incredible woman, let us also remember to celebrate the beautiful life that she lived. Anna Joyce's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She is resting high on that mountain.

Following the burial, the family would like to invite everyone who attends the service for fellowship at the First Pentecostal Church (1437 Judson Walsh Dr. Opelousas, La 70570), for food and refreshments.
