Albert Denis Al Robichaux, Jr.

Opelousas Funeral services for Albert Al Robichaux, Jr., 76, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 14, 2007, in Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas . Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery, Opelousas.

Rev. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the services. Musical selections will be provided by Pat Leblanc and Ann Purser.

Al, a native of Taft, LA and resident of Opelousas, died at 2:30 AM, Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Doctor's Hospital of Opelousas.

Mr. Robichaux was a well known businessman in Lafayette and St. Landry Parish. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus and also the Elks Club 1048. He was a graduate of LSU and excelled in football in high school and at LSU. Mr. Robichaux served his Country in the Army and he was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Claire Ann Sonnier Robichaux, Opelousas; sons: Albert R. and wife, Lynda Castille Robichaux , Lafayette; Dr. Francis X and wife, Ginger Gremillion Robichaux, Alexandria, LA; Vance Dennis and wife, Annette Fournier Robichaux, San Antonio, TX; Eugene M. and wife, Laurie Abdalla Robichaux, Plano, TX; daughter, Mary R. Miller, Opelousas; grandchildren: Casey Miller, Elizabeth Robichaux, Garett Robichaux, Patrick Robichaux, Martha Robichaux, Camille Robichaux, Sophie Robichaux, Val Robichaux, Ella Robichaux, Eva Robichaux, Anna Claire Robichaux, Joshua Robichaux, and Isabelle Robichaux; brothers: Milton Robichaux, San Antonio, TX, and David Robichaux, Mexico City, Mexico; sisters: Margaret R. Elliott, Ada, Ohio; and Joan R. Sigmond, Ocean Port, NJ.

Mr. Al was preceded in death by his son, Aaron D. Robichaux.

Visiting hours will be observed on Friday, April 13, 2007 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM, the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8:00 AM until time of service. An Elks Service will be held at 6:30 PM on Friday night In the funeral home followed by a Rosary service at 7:00 PM.
