A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Lebon Simoneaux will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Msgr Keith Derouen will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will be at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, La.
Lebon, age 79, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Heritage Manor of Opelousas.
Lebon was an usher for many years at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Together, Lebon and his wife, Jeanette were members of the chapel at Queen of Angels. He enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, watching westerns, eating some good cajun food, and he mostly enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball.
Lebon is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanette Simoneaux; son, Mark Charles Simoneaux & daughter in-law, Tracy of Mandeville; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Simoneaux and Benjamin Simoneaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lebon is preceded in death by his parents, Lonie Simoneaux & Sarah Henry Simoneaux; sister, Mildred Cortez; and 2 brothers, Frank Simoneaux and Huey Simoneaux.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Simoneaux, Benjamin Simoneaux, Wade Hadley, Cliff Durand, Kevin Simoneaux and John Hadley Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers will be JC Sharp, Glenn Stute, Paul Pitre and Errol Pitre.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Recitation of the rosary will be on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 1:30 p.m. by Deacon Jerome Collins.
