Krotz Springs-A Funeral Service will be held for Curtis Wayne Walley on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Curtis Wayne Walley, 69, of Arnaudville, LA passed away on Friday, April 1st, 2022 at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette.
Curtis graduated from Buckatunna High School, in Buckatunna, MS in 1970 where he met and married his high school sweetheart, and lifelong loving wife, Sylvia Ann Humphrey Walley. He joined the Army Reserve until he was honorably discharged in 1977. He began a career with Kelley Brothers in 1970, leaving in 1974. This led to his lifelong career with Phillips Petroleum, retiring after 24 years of service in 1998. He began his own company, CW Technical Services, in 2000 before his final retirement; he then continued to enjoy more time with his family and friends.
He was an active member at Krotz Springs Baptist Church where he served several offices, the most prestigious office being Head Deacon. He was incredibly involved with the youth and loved by all in the church.
Curtis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sylvia Ann Humphrey Walley; sons, Denny Walley (Chele) and Brian Walley (Colette); grandchildren, Kali Walley, Brody Walley, Colby Walley (Denny) and Logan Walley and Mason Walley (Brian); his mother Etta Lee Walley Gordon; brother James V Walley Jr (Judy) and aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father James V Walley, Sr.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs. Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the church.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in memory of Curtis to the Carpenter House and/or St. Joseph’s Hospice.
