Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Earl Lee Andrus, to begin on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 2:00 P. M. at Courtablue Baptist Church, (open all night) until services on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 10:00 A.M., followed by burial services at First Baptist Church of Krotz Springs Cemetery.

Earl was born on August 7, 1932 and began his new assignment on January 23, 2019. He entered his eternal destiny with dignity and grace surrounded by his family who loved him more than words could express. He will be dearly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Earl was a native and long-time resident of Port Barre. He was an active member and Deacon of Courtaebleau Baptist Church. He was employed by St. Landry Parish School Board, as school bus driver for 23 years. He was President of Lucy 12 Hunting Club for 46 years; owned and ran a boat landing on the Grimmette canal where he raised his family. He also worked for Grimmette, Janes and Traylor driving Dozers for many years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper and junk collector. He enjoyed spending time with family and helping anyone he could in any way possible. He was one of a kind and never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, father, papa, poppy, uncle and friend.

His spirt is carried on by his son, Leon Andrus and wife Karen, his daughters, Dianna Bourque and husband Gerald, Mary Berlin and Jerry Andrus all of Port Barre. Nine grandkids, Joey, Leon JR., Chrystal, Stacy, Abby, Chrissy, Jade, Michael and Jonathan and 14 great-grand kids. His sister Laura Lee Varnado; a host of nieces and nephews and dear friends.

He slipped away to join his loving wife, Ella Johnson Andrus of 58 years, his mother, Laura Charles, his father Wallace Andrus and his sister, Elise (Tu-Tu) Stelly in heaven.

Pallbearers will include Joey Andrus, Leon Andrus Jr., Jonathan Andrus, Michael Berlin, Ethan Hidalgo and Riley Andrus. Honorary Pallbearers will include Luke Ragas and Carl “Monkey” Varnado.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home and the Staff on the 5th floor of Opelousas General Hospital for the compassion and love they showed to not only him but to his family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm sending my deepest sympathy and a comforting thought to the family of Mr. Earl. The Father of tender mercies and the GOD of all comfort, comforts us in all our tribulation. GOD made hope for the dead possible by sending His only begotten son Jesus Christ to die for us. And Jesus promised that the dead will live again. Read John 5:21, 28, 29.
