Opelousas- A Funeral Service will be held for, John Richard Womack II, on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Deacon Sammy Diesi will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas.

John, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. John was known for his comical and loving demeanor. He never met a stranger and loved whole heartedly. John was an avid fisherman and hunter. He belonged to the Bally Hack hunting club for 20 plus years. He was also a member of the Louisiana/Texas fishing rodeo. John was a member of the Opelousas Elks Lodge #1048, where he enjoyed playing cards with his Elk brothers. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bobbie Ann Breaux Womack of Opelousas; sons, John R. Womack III of Opelousas; daughter, Nicole Mae Womack of Opelousas; mother, Russell Janet Womack; five grandchildren, Katlyn Giroir, Austin and Bryce Womack, Lindsey Womack and Brooklyn Womack; and mother-in-law, Beulah Breaux of Opelousas.

He was preceded in death by his father, John “Jack” Womack, Sr.; his son, John Robert Womack; and father-in-law, Robert Breaux.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. The rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Friday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

Pallbearers will be John Womack III, Robert Stelly, Johnathon Stelly, Harry Doucet, Benjamin Doucet and Bobby Comeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin and Bryce Womack, Lionel Stelly and Gerald Bower.
