Mr. Lowell Sibille, Jr. A native of Sunset and a longtime resident of Opelousas, LA. He graduated in 1957 from Cathedral High School in Lafayette, LA. After graduation, he entered the U. S. Marine Corps and remained in the reserves for four years after completing his service time.
Immediately after his discharge from the Marines, he attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana majoring in Civil Engineering. While in college, he happened to visit his brother-in-law who at the time was a Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer. While there, he was asked if he would like to take part in directing a funeral and embalming a deceased. That was the beginning of a lifetime of Funeral Service. The year was 1959 and he was twenty years old.
The following year, Lowell enrolled into the Commonwealth College of Sciences in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Commonwealth College in March of 1961. He also earned an Associate Degree in Business Psychology from Clinton University. After serving his internship at the P. J. McMahon & Sons Funeral Home in New Orleans, Lowell remained on staff for the next 11 years before returning to Opelousas. He founded Sibille Funeral Home what is now a 34 year old Family business. Lowell is active in the day to day operations of Sibille Funeral Home as its General Manager. He is a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer.
Mr. Sibille is still very active in the community and strives diligently to meet the ever growing needs of people who he served for the past 34 years. He is a member and currently serves as the Vice President of the St. Landry Preservationist Society. He is also a member of the Opelousas Elks Lodge #1048, Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Opelousas-St. Landry Chamber of Commerce, Opelousas High School Boosters Club, Port Barre High School Boosters Club, St. Landry United Way, Southwest Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association. He served on the Greater Krotz Springs Port Commission as a Director and on the Board of Directors for the First National Bank & Trust Co. in Sunset, Louisiana. Mr. Sibille is also a member of the Port Barre American Legion and the V.F.W. for over 34 years and has been a Licensed Notary Public in the State of Louisiana since 1980.
Lowell is married to the former Dolores Quebedeaux. He has three children, nine grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He feels blessed with being able to continue managing the funeral home he started as a young man and hopes to continue this tradition for many years to come. |

Funeral Director

Retanna Olivares is a native of Kaplan, LA and a graduate of North Vermilion High School in Maurice, Louisiana. Her decision to enter the funeral profession was encouraged through the caring, sincere helpfulness which she shared with her family during the loss of a close family member.
While attending Mortuary College, she joined the staff Vincent Funeral Home in Kaplan, LA and Hebert Funeral Home in Abbeville, LA. She graduated from Delgado Community College in New Orleans, LA, with honors and attained an Associate Degree in Funeral Service Education. After completing her internship, she earned her Louisiana State Embalming and Funeral Directing license.
Mrs. Olivares began working at Ardoin Funeral Home in Oakdale, LA in 1996. While working for Ardoin Funeral Home during her 6 1/2 years of service, she served the families of Allen, Beauregard, Evangeline, Rapides, and St. Landry Parishes. After working for several years at the location, she became the Assistant Manager.
In 2002, Retanna joined the Sibille Funeral Homes. She focuses on making the funeral and cremation ceremonies personalized, meaningful, memorable and everlasting to those who have lost someone special. She brings with her a warm heart and genuine compassion which she shares with the families that she serves. She is trained in all aspects of the funeral business.
Over the years, it has been her personal commitment to provide each family with the most professional and caring assistance that they can receive during such a difficult time.
Many of her activities include a member of Southwest Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, Louisiana Funeral Directors Association, and Opelousas Rotary Club, and other community programs. Her accomplishments are being certified by the National Board of Funeral Service Examiners and having a wonderful supportive family.

Funeral Director

Frank is a native of Carencro, LA, and has been a resident of Opelousas since 2001. He was a 1980 graduate of Carencro High School, and a 1986 graduate of Commonwealth College of Funeral Service in Houston, TX. While attending college, he was awarded a scholarship by the Louisiana Funeral Directors Association in 1985 and received the Scholastic Achievement Award. He also successfully passed the National Board Examine given by the Auspices of the Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards which is recognized by 36 states in the US.
Frank has been affiliated with the funeral service industry since 1983. He has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer for 21 years, and a licensed insurance consultant since 1987.
He has worked at numerous funeral homes during his career including Earthman’s Funeral Directors in Houston, TX; Melancon Funeral Home, and currently working at Sibille Funeral Home. He has also previously worked for Lafayette Crematory, Inc. He has attended numerous state and national continuing education seminars throughout his career.
He was also a deputy sheriff with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Department for the past 3 years. He has enjoyed being a public servant to the community.
Frank speaks French and Spanish fluently and loves the Acadiana area. He enjoys spending time outdoors hunting and fishing during his spare time.
He has been a member of the Knights of Columbus Council Holy Name Council, Woodmen of the World, LA Sheriff’s Association, St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Executive 300 Club, LA Funeral Director’s Association, Southwest Funeral Directors Association, Opelousas Kiwanis Club, and Pi Sigma ETA National Morticians Fraternity.
Frank has a great compassion for people and is always willing to help people in time of need.

Funeral Director/Secretary

Sylvia was a native of Sunset, Louisiana. She was a graduate of the Academy of Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, LA. She attended U. L. (previously S. L. I.) in Lafayette, LA, and L.S. U. in Eunice, LA.
Sylvia is a licensed Funeral Director, Bookkeeper and Secretary of the Sibille Funeral Homes, and a Notary Public. She was the co-founder of the Sibille Funeral Homes in 1972.
She is a past board member of the American Bank & Trust Co. of Opelousas; served on the board of the Opelousas-St. Landry Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the Opelousas Woman’s Club and served as chairman of the Bayou Ramble Antique Show and Sale for many years. She was the recipient of the Citizen of the Year by the Opelousas-St. Landry Chamber of Commerce in 1985. Recipient of an award in 1991 from the St. Landry Parish Federation of Democratic Women for outstanding and dedicated service rendered to the St. Landry Parish Community. She also received a plaque in 1999 as a Century Donor of the Boy Scouts of America and an Honored Member of Oxford’s Who’s Who for 1992-1993.
Sylvia is married to Simon Provost and resides in New Iberia, LA. She has three children: Jill Sibille Manuel and husband, Mark; Lowell Sibille III and wife, Wendy; and Blane Sibille, Sr. and wife, Kitty. She also has nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. |

Funeral Home Associate

Most everyone knows me by the name Benny. I have been an employee of Sibille Funeral Home for 21 years. I started at Sibille Funeral Home in 1985 in the pre-need department and also as an assistant to the funeral director. My responsibilities today is still serving as an assistant to the funeral directors, some clerical work and providing religious services to families that don’t have a pastor or church.
I began work in the Funeral Industry in 1976 with Youngs Funeral Home in Ferriday/Jonesville, La. I worked approximately 5 years with them in the insurance department and as an assistant to the funeral director. My family and I then moved to Opelousas, La.
I am married to the most beautiful and multi-talented Nancy Foote Reppond since 1968. We have 2 wonderful sons and daughter-in-laws who have provided us with 7 wonderful grandchildren
I am very active in my Community and Parish. I have served as president of the Opelousas Kiwanis Club and presently on the board of directors. Other organizations that I serve with currently or in the past are as follows: St. Landry Parish Triad Board, Advisory Board at Senior Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Opelousas Ministerial Alliance, Mayor of Opelousas Bi-Racial Committee, Opelousas/St. Landry Chamber of Commerce. I currently serve on the State Board of the La. District Council of the Assemblies of God and as the Presbyter of the Lafayette Section of the La. District A/G. The responsibilities are to oversee the Churches and Ministers in that area of the State of La. For the past 30 years I have worked in summer camps with children and teens.
My purpose and fulfillment in the Funeral Industry comes in being able to assist families during their time of grief and sorrow. The way that I am able to help is by showing them the compassion, kindness, care and instructions that is needed during this difficult time in their lives. Because of my Ministry calling, I am able to give unto them the spiritual and emotional strength and guidance that they may need during this time of loss and emotional stress. Being able to help others is the ultimate reward and fulfillment in life.
I have been in the Ministry for over 37 years and received my Ordination from the Assemblies of God in 1975. I have served as Pastor of 2 Churches during my ministry, Trinity A/G in Jonesville, La and Christian Life Center A/G in Opelousas, where I have currently served for 25 years. |

Secretary

Tammy Marks Guillory has been an employee with Sibille Funeral Home for over 7 months. She has returned to the funeral industry after several years. She was previously employed with the staff as a Preneed Assistant helping families prearrange their funeral details.
She is currently the secretary and office administrator at the Opelousas location. She assists the staff and families with clerical needs. She communicates with the general public by dispersing information in regards to the funeral services. She also assists with many other tasks in the workplace.
Tammy is a very hard worker and enjoys helping others. She especially loves her job because it is a pleasure being amongst people and talking with others. Also, she likes her job because everyone she works with is kind, helpful and understanding.
Tammy is a native and long-time resident of Port Barre. She is married to Charles “Eddie” Guillory and has 3 loving children: Megan and her husband, Shane; Chaz, and Koy; and one grandson, Caleb.

Donna Aymond Faul has been an employee with Sibille Funeral Home for over a year. She caters to the needs of the families during visitations. She communicates with the general public by dispersing information in regards to the funeral services. She also monitors the appearance of the facility.
Donna is a very hard worker and enjoys helping others. She especially loves her job because it is a pleasure of being amongst people and talking and laughing with others. Also, she likes her job because everyone she works with is kind, helpful and understanding.
Donna was reared in Port Barre and a resident of Opelousas. She has 3 good and caring children and 2 grandsons. |
