Opelousas- Funeral Services for Alice Marie Deranger, known to many as “Marie”, age 62, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery in Leonville.
Rev. Roy Baker will officiate the service.
Marie was a native and longtime resident of Leonville. She died on Monday, February 22, 2010, at her residence.
She was a homemaker and family caretaker who especially enjoyed tending to all of the children. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Opelousas. She was a huge Elvis fan and had many Elvis collectibles. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casino, and listening to Zydeco music in her spare time.
Survivors include her three brothers: James “Joe” Deranger of Leonville; Danny Deranger of Port Barre; and Kevin Deranger and wife, Denise of Leonville; one sister, Sandra Deranger of Leonville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Weston Deranger and Neoma Eunello Devillier; and her sister, Janet “Faye” Lalonde.
Pallbearers will be Cole Lalonde, Kirk Credeur, Joshua Lalonde, Durick Angelle, Kelly Delaune, and Dillon Delaune. Honorary pallbearers will be James “Joe” Deranger and Kevin Deranger.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
