Michael R. Flanagan
Opelousas- Funeral services for Michael R. Flanagan, age 57, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 2010, with a mass of Christian Burial in the St. Charles Catholic Church . Interment will follow in the St. Charles Cemetery in Grand Coteau. Michael was a residence of Sunset. He died on Thursday, February 11, 2010, at his residence in Sunset. He attended USL for 2 years. Michael’s occupation was a carpet and flooring installer. He was also a licensed Ham Radio Operator. He enjoyed fishing and spending time in Grand Isle, music and playing his guitar, and speaking to friends on his radio. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife, Josie Lea Wyatt Flanagan of Sunset, one son, Patrick Michael Flanagan of Spokane, WA, one daughter, Celeste Flanagan of Sunset, one brother, H.J. Flanagan of Prairie Ville, LA, and one sister, Sharon Flanagan of Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry J. Flanagan and Evelyn Rhorer Flanagan. Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, February 14, 2010, from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be held on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. Words of comfort to the family may be expressed at www.sibillefuneralhomes.com.
