Opelousas- Funeral Services for Marie Irmine Auzenne, age 85, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.
Fr. Angelo Cremaldi will officiate the Mass.
Irmine was a longtime residence of Opelousas. She died on Friday, January 29, 2010, at Iberia Medical Center in New Iberia. She was a teacher in the Public School System for many years.
She is survived by her sons: Dana C. Auzenne of Chandler, AZ; Duane J. Auzenne of Houma, LA; Edmond J. Auzenne of Houston, TX; and Curt A. Auzenne and wife, Katherine of Baton Rouge; one brother, Alton Auzenne of Duarte, CA; two sisters: Florence Bouyer of Opelousas; and Angelina Ross of Davenport, IA; eleven grandchildren and eleven great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph M. Auzenne and Alice Auzenne; her spouse, Jacques Warren Auzenne; two brothers: Dorsey and Austin Auzenne.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas on Friday, February 5, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
