I'm so very sorry for your loss of Dr David. He gave such help to the community. I wanted to share a few words and I hope you find some comfort in them. It's so hard to lose a loved one to death. Even Jesus cried when he found out his friend Lazarus had died.
Jehovah God provides comfort to those that are broken hearted in the Bible. It says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation...” (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4
The Bible also talks about a promise at Revalation 21:3-4 of how a time would come and there would be no more tears and pain and mourning for death will be done away with. We can find comfort in these words and draw close to God. He wants us to lean on him. The Bible tells us: “Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you.” (James 4:8) One way to draw close to God is through prayer. I try personally to not underestimate its value. It's something that can help us during these difficult times. The Bible makes this comforting promise: “Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart; and those who are crushed in spirit he saves.” (Psalm 34:18) It also assures us: “Throw your burden upon Jehovah himself, and he himself will sustain you.” (Psalm 55:22)
Again I am so very sorry for your loss,

David was my dentist until his retirement (his father being my dentist from childhood on), attended University of Tennessee when I attended briefly and we both lived in the ZIP Fraternity House prior to my marriage, and a good friend. You could not ask for a finer man and/or friend. He definitely will be missed. My deepest sympathies, condolences and prayers go out to Von, family and friends.
