A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, Mr. Charles “Nicky” Nezat, on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. Reverend James Brady will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in Bellevue Memorial Park.

Mr. Nezat, age 75, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Opelousas General Health System surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Nezat was the owner and operator of Busy Bee Pest Control; where he was affectionately known by his customers as “Busy”, “Busy-Bee” and “Betie Man”. He treasured all his customers and considered them more so his good friends. Mr. Nezat was a longtime member of the Acadian Pest Control Club. He cherished time spent with his family and friends; and enjoyed talking to everyone he met. Mr. Nezat was known as a jokester, and no matter what his situation he was always up for sharing a good joke. He enjoyed going fishing and cheering on his favorite football team the LSU Tigers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Nezat; son, Steve Michael Nezat and wife, Vickie; daughter, Melanie Ann Nezat and husband, Tony; brother, Gene Nezat and wife, Edie; 2 grandchildren, Holly Nezat and Alexis Nezat; and 1 great-grandchild, Ashton Smith.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles Nezat and Mary Burnley Nezat.

The family requests visitation be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. A Rosary Service will be prayed by Deacon Dwanye Joubert at 6:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

    To Mrs. Linda Nezat and family may GOD Bless you guys as you go through the lost of your husband, father, grandfather, brother, sister and other relative and friends. To know Charles or the Betie was a pleasure as well as an honor, that GOD put us in the same path. He was always a very happy man all ways telling Jokes even through his sickness that man would always thinking about his customers. A humble man he truly was a servant of the Most High. When I heard the news at Church on Sunday that Mr. Charles had transition on Saturday my heart was heavy but my spirit rejoice because I know to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD. The wok that you done has spoken for you.
