Port Barre- A memorial service will be held for, Glenn Broussard, at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. Brother Louis Charrier will conduct the Service.

Glenn, age 58, a resident of Big Cane, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was an avid deer and squirrel hunter. And also was a LSU fan.
Glenn was a kind-hearted man that loved his family dearly. He would take the shirt off of his back to help someone out and never expected anything in return. His smile and laugh was contagious. There was never a dull moment with him around. He made light of every situation and if you ever needed a good laugh, he would be sure to bring it out of you. All that knew him loved him. He will be missed tremendously.

He is survived by his sons, Boyer Cole Broussard of Lafayette, and Kolby Broussard of Big Cane, daughters, Amanda B. Hebert and her husband, Justin of Broussard and Abby Broussard of Big Cane, brothers, Bobby Broussard and his life long companion, Debbie of Opelousas, Jeff Basco of Bunkie, and Lenny Broussard of Florida, sisters, Matilda Basco of Lafayette, Phyllis Glasscock and her husband, Mitch of Opelousas, Regina Basco, and Christina Wiker of Florida, 2 grandchildren, Grayson and Marabel Hebert.

He is preceded in death by parents, Bruce and Mattie Broussard.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre.

My very deepest sympathy for your loss. It has been a few years since I had seen Glenn. But please know that during his time with Walmart he left everyone with at least 1 great memory that will stay with us forever. He had an infectious smile that lit up a room, it was hard not to smile in his presence.

My heartfelt condolences to your family for the loss of your loved one. Please allow God's word from the Bible, at 2 Corinthians 1: 3,4 which states: "Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God. I pray that the comfort from God/Jehovah will strengthen you all to endure not only this trial but future ones as well.

Although slightly distant kinship via my paternal great grandmother whose sister was Mr. Freddy Nezat's mother I never got to know Glenn and his siblings as well as I would like due to difference in age and my being away from Port Barre for school and later moving to Opelousas and am saddened by this fact which seems to always be the case and the passing on at such a young age. My deepest and most heartfelt sympathies and condolences are extended to family and friends.
