Opelousas-- Funeral service for Adam Nugent, Jr., will be on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Dean Rydbeck will be conduct the service. Interment will follow in the Methodist Cemetery in Palmetto.
He passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the of 79. Born in Ville Platte, LA, he was a son of the late Adam Nugent, Sr. and Lottie Ganson Nugent. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University where he studied and received his Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering. He married Patricia Ann Bihm in 1963 in the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, in Opelousas, LA. He worked with Albermarle in Research and Development until his retirement following 39 years of service. After his retirement, he and Patricia moved to South Carolina to be closer to his daughter and grandchildren and became members of St. Francis of Assis Episcopal Church, in Chapin.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia; daughter Tricia Nugent Nicks, Louis Nicks (husband); grandchildren, Hailey and Hunter.
Visitation will be on Thursday, July 13, 2017 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 pm in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.
The family extends a sincere thank you to Teresa Sturkie with Regency Hospice for the kindness and compassion you have shown to Mr. Nugent during this difficult time.
