It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved sister, aunt and friend, Gussie Robin. Born on October 1, 1933 and departed from this world to be with her Savior on April 10, 2017 at the age of 83. She was a lifelong resident of Port Barre, LA. She was never married but was a godmother to numerous children. She loved children and had plenty of toys for them to play with and candy to eat. She worked at Elder Lumber Company for 30 years as a book keeper. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her two brothers, Larry Eugene Robin and wife, Marguerite of Alexandria, and Morris “Butch” Robin and wife, Margaret of Slaughter; a double first cousin who was like a sister, Carolyn Cropper and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in the death by her parents, Morris “Cocky” and Elder Robin; her two siblings Marion Raymond Robin and Leroy J. Robin.

The family request visitation be held on Monday, April 17, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m at the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A Rosary service will be prayed on Monday by Reverend Picard at 7:00 p.m.

The family would to give a special thanks to Acadia St. Landry Nursing Facility and Dr. Ty Hargroder for their great care.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Acadia St. Landry Nursing Facility.

So sorry to find out that Gussie has passed away. Years ago, when she & Daddy both worked at P.B. Lumber, I was around her quite a bit and always loved her. May she rest now in the peace of Christ surrounded by those who went before her. You all have our love and prayers.
