Daisy Bourgeois Deshotels
Opelousas A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at St. Landry Catholic Church for Daisy Bourgeois Deshotels. Rite of Committal and Inurnment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Rev. Father James Brady will celebrate the Mass.
She was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Opelousas. She died on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Prompt Succor Nursing Home at the age of 90 years old. She was a homemaker, an auditor and a real estate agent. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include three sons, Marc Deshotels of Opelousas Phillip Deshotels and wife, Annette of Roswell, Georgia and Paul Deshotels of Arnaudville two daughters, Michle Deshotels and husband, Gill Gautreau of Baton Rouge and Julie Deshotels Soldano and husband, Louis of Richmond, Texas one sister, Marion Kearley and husband, the Rev. David Kearley of Sewanee, Tennessee and six grandchildren, Alyce Deshotels, JeanClaude Gautreau, Dominique Gautreau, Phillip Michael Deshotels, Scott Soldano, and Krysten Soldano.
Preceded in death by her husband, Isom Deshotels her parents, Louis S. Bourgeois, Jr. and Jessie Mary Bourgeois and three brothers, Louis S. Bourgeois III, Richard Bourgeois, and Benjamin Bourgeois.
A Rosary Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday in the church.
