Blessings and gifts come in many shapes and forms and ours came in the form of Morgan Elizabeth Adams on June 7, 1995. On this day, Morgan joined her parents Ben and Beth Dupre Adams and her big brother James Christian Adams. Morgan touched lives, filled hearts with happiness, and created smiles. She loved her family and she loved her friends and she loved God. Her bond with God is undeniable. Morgan embraced life in her short time on earth. She loved gymnastics and especially cheerleading so much that she had hopes of becoming a LSU cheerleader. She cherished time with her Mom shopping for prom dresses, a graduation ring, talking, and watching movies. She had a special bond with her Dad especially recently when they spent early evenings fishing in the family pond. Morgan absolutely adored her older brother Christian, who was always her protector.

Morgans extended family was at Opelousas Catholic High School where she was just starting to enjoy the rewards of finishing her junior year. She thrived in the schools Christian environment, cheered for the Vikings, excelled academically straight As, and was just asked to join the Beta Club. Her recent academic accomplishments made her realize that she could achieve her dream of becoming a dermatologist one day. Morgan also spent many happy days performing gymnastics at AJs Gym in Carencro, LA and Precision Athletics in Baton Rouge, LA.

Gods longterm journey for Morgan and her childhood friend Sara Jarrell, started on Friday, April 6th, Good Friday. On this day, the hearts of their family and friends filled with unimaginable sorrow. Morgan will continue to be a blessing to many others through the gifts of life she is providing through her donation to the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency.

Morgan is survived by her parents and brother, her maternal grandparents Paul Gus and Madeline Dupre of Opelousas, LA, paternal grandparents, Jim and Judy Adams of Opelousas, LA and Marylynn and Jack Barham of Shreveport, LA. She is also survived by Uncles and Aunts Michael and Monica Dupre of Houston, TX who are also her Godparents, Leslie Dupre of Opelousas, LA, Dennis and Terry Adams of Opelousas, LA and Lisa and Steve Hargett of Atlanta, GA. Nieces and Nephews who will miss Morgan include: Emily and Sean Dupre of Houston, TX, Wesley Olley of Atlanta, GA and Crawford and Dagny Adams of Opelousas, LA.

Pallbearers include: James Christian Adams, Joshua Bezet, Dylan Tabb, Ian Tabb, Michael Dupre, Victoria Hargroder, and honorary pallbearer is Sean Dupre.
Services for Morgan are as follows:

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Rite of Committal will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

The Most Reverend Michael Jarrell, Bishop of Lafayette and great uncle of Sarah will be the celebrant of the Funeral Mass. The Rev. Msgr. Keith J. DeRouen, pastor of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church will be the homilist and Master of Ceremonies. Major concelebrants will be The Rev. Fr. James Brady, pastor of St. Landry Catholic Church, The Rev. Msgr. James Gaddy, pastor of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Lake Charles, The Rev. Msgr. Louis Melancon, in residence at St. Landry Catholic Church, and The Rev. Fr. Millard Boyer, chaplain at Lafayette General Hospital. Deacons of the Mass will be Deacon Jerome Collins and Deacon Sammy Diesi. Seminarians of the Diocese of Lafayette will be the servers for the Mass. The Lector for the Mass will be John Braham, campus minister at Opelousas Catholic School.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the following charities in memory of Morgan Elizabeth Adams:
Opelousas Catholic School Foundation Trust Fund: 428 E. Prudhomme St. Opelousas, LA 70570
or
Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency: 3545 N. I10 Service Road, Suite 300, Metairie, LA 70002

Beth, I just learned of the loss of your beautiful daughter Morgan. Words cannot express my shock and sorrow I felt for you and your family and parents when I learned that Morgan was your daughter. I learned of her death back in April from facebook postings by Liz Lacomb who graduated with me from Grand Coteau. I didnt realize Morgan was your daughter due to the last name. .I check Sibilles site now and again for postings of folks I may know. I cannot immagine the grief and sorrow in your heart. My thoughts prayers are with you ,my childhood friend, and your family at this time.

A child is the greatest gift given, and because we have a daughter Morgans age, and another older teenager, we understand only as parents could understand how they fill our lives with happiness and joy. Although we have never met, we have bowed our heads in prayer and prayed for your family and your daughter. I know the days ahead will be very difficult and I cannot imagine going thru something so traggic but I do pray that God will give needed strength to you at this time . Please know that you are not alone but that many are walking thru this journey with you . May God Bless you and Keep you safe and know that your daughter is safe with him in heaven.

God Bless you all.

Dear Ben, Beth and the rest of your family there are no words to ease what you are going through at this time. My heart aches along with yours. I didnt know Morgan but maybe when she was younger I may have seen her around school. I have been praying for her and all of you since the terrible accident happened. I prayed that both girls would be ok, but I guess God needed two more beautiful angels in heaven. Please know that you are not alone and we all care. God Bless All of You and Your Families and your beautiful Angel Morgan.

Ben and BethWords cannot express my sorrow at your loss. Through pictures and discussions with Beth, I saw Morgan grow and blossom into a beautiful young woman. Beth always spoke with pride of Christian and Morgans accomplishments, and the joy in her heart with the love of these children was always evident. Cherish with that same joy the memories of your time with Morgan. I pray that your faith will sustain you at this time and in the future as you cope with the loss of this beautiful child.

    To the Adams family,

Although I met you after the fact, my heart goes out to all of you. As I sat in the waiting room Sunday morning at LGMC, waiting for my own daughter to come out of surgery, I took in all I could from all of you. The love that your family shares is remarkable. Mr. Adams, what you said to me that morning, that you have had more love and life with your daughter in the 16 years, 7 months, than most parents will ever experience in a life time will always be something I will never forget. What an amazing young woman she was, and as her life continues in others, you can rest assured that she will always be among you. God Bless Pam Dupuis

My old AIC, now OC is one of the finest schools to lead our beautiful children in the right direction. May Our Dear Savior Extend His Guiding Hand, and be upon your shoulders at this difficult time. Rejoice with the Risen Christ. He has arisen from the tomb and entered two beautiful girls into Heaven with His guidance.
